Job summary

Key Care & Support seeks a dedicated support worker to assist Sammy, a 26-year-old man with learning difficulties, medical needs and communication via iPad and hand signs.

You will help him live a meaningful, active life, support routines, and promote best quality of life through person-centred care, positive relationships and consistency. Flexibility to cover days and nights is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience supporting adults with enhanced needs.
• Must be flexible to cover days and nights.
• Drivers with a UK Drivers Licence and 12 months UK Driving experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring support is proactive, respectful and focused on quality of life.
• Ensuring a consistent and reflective approach.
• Understand why behaviours occur and respond in ways that reduce stress and promote well-being.
• Work collaboratively with Sammy's family and professionals.
• You will support Sammy to develop skills, make choices and have a strong voice in decisions about his life, routines and activities.
