Step Teachers Ltd is recruiting an SEND Teaching Assistant for full-time, flexible supply roles across London. You’ll support pupils with a range of SEND in mainstream or specialist settings, assisting teachers and contributing to an inclusive, safe learning environment.

Ideal candidates have SEND experience, knowledge of EHCPs and differentiation, and a patient, collaborative approach. The role offers weekly PAYE pay and access to exclusive staff benefits through Step Teachers.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND in education.
• Understanding of EHCPs, differentiation, inclusive practice.
• Caring, patient, and resilient in supporting pupils.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support are desirable.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND in mainstream or specialist settings.
• Assist the class teacher with tailored learning activities.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Support pupils with personal care and mobility needs where required.
• Contribute to observations and progress tracking.
• Collaborate with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals.
