Job summary

The Education Network Birmingham is currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support a range of SEND schools across the city. Opportunities include long-term assignments and day-to-day supply, offering flexibility to fit your preferences.

You will work with children with SEND, providing classroom, small-group and 1-2-1 support, helping access the curriculum and promote positive behaviour, with strong support from our dedicated consultants.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND – essential.
• A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Patient, calm and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work confidently as part of a school team.
• Experience supporting Autism, SEMH, MLD or complex needs would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with a range of SEND and additional needs.
• Providing classroom, small-group and 1-2-1 support.
• Helping pupils access the curriculum and engage in learning.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Promoting independence, confidence and social development.
• Working alongside teachers and specialist support staff.
• Supporting pupils to achieve their individual learning and EHCP targets.
• Adapting your approach to meet the needs of individual pupils.
