Job summary

Smile Education is currently recruiting a confident and adaptable Secondary Cover Teacher to work across secondary schools in Cannock and the surrounding areas. You'll have the chance to teach across a range of subjects using pre-planned lessons while making a positive impact in local secondary schools.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
• Experience teaching within UK secondary schools.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence teaching across different subjects when required.
• A flexible, reliable and proactive approach.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people's learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of secondary subjects.
• Create a calm, engaging and purposeful classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
• Encourage students to remain focused and complete the work set.
• Provide clear feedback to teaching staff after lessons.
• Build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Support the wider school community where required.
