Job summary

SCR in Canterbury is recruiting experienced Residential Support Workers to support vulnerable children and young people across a range of residential care settings. You will provide high-quality care, helping them feel safe, supported and valued.

Agency work offers flexible shifts, including long days, weekends and sleep-ins. You must be patient, calm and able to stay professional in challenging situations.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age or older
• At least 6 months' experience working with children or young people in a residential setting
• A clean UK driving licence
• The flexibility to work long days, weekends and sleep-in shifts when required
• A genuine commitment to working with vulnerable children and young people

Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day care and support to vulnerable children and young people
• Building positive and trusting relationships
• Supporting young people with their daily routines and individual needs
• Engaging children in activities, hobbies and interests
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and personal development
• Managing and responding appropriately to challenging behaviours
• Following individual care plans and risk assessments
• Maintaining professional boundaries and providing consistent support
