Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking Qualified Cover Teachers to join our network of secondary schools across Nottingham and surrounding areas. This role offers flexible teaching work, including regular cover, additional days alongside another role or a varied schedule, with paid to scale rates and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching within a secondary school setting.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a calm, purposeful and positive learning environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with pupils and staff.
• The ability to build positive and respectful relationships with pupils.
• A positive and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting pupil progress and school life.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to different schools, subjects, year groups and pupil needs.
• An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries within a school setting.
• Adaptability and resilience when working across different educational settings.
• High standards of professional behaviour, presentation and integrity.
• A willingness to engage in professional development and respond positively to feedback.
• A full enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Completion of the Connex Education onboarding process.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality teaching and continuity of learning across a variety of secondary schools, subjects and year groups.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the usual class teacher where required.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and learning in every lesson.
• Establish a calm, purposeful classroom environment and build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Work across different schools and settings, showing adaptability and professionalism.
