Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant or in a primary school setting.
• A positive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
• Confidence supporting pupils across different age groups and abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and reliability when working on supply.
• A proactive and adaptable attitude to classroom support.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Ability to follow guidance and adapt quickly in new school environments.
• Enthusiasm for supporting learning as a Primary Teaching Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers with day-to-day classroom activities across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress.
• Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and daily routines.
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
• Provide additional support for pupils with SEND where required.
• Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.
• Support transitions, playtimes, and lunchtime supervision when needed.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and engagement.
• Represent Class Act professionally while working as a Primary Teaching Assistant.
