Job summary

Class Act is seeking a Primary Teaching Assistant for flexible supply roles across various primary settings. This position offers day-to-day and short-term opportunities to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing, working with individuals and groups as needed.

The ideal candidate will have prior TA experience, a patient, proactive approach, and excellent teamwork skills. Training and safeguarding checks are in place to ensure pupil welfare in diverse school environments.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Primary Teaching Assistant or in a primary school setting.
• Positive, patient, and supportive approach to working with children.
• Confidence supporting pupils across different age groups and abilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and reliable when working on supply.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Ability to follow guidance and adapt quickly in new school environments.
• Enthusiasm for supporting learning as a Primary Teaching Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Support class teachers with day-to-day classroom activities across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and support progress.
• Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and daily routines.
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils’ social and emotional development.
• Provide additional support for pupils with SEND where required.
• Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
• Represent Class Act professionally while working as a Primary Teaching Assistant.
