Riseley Green School is seeking a Bank SEN Teacher to provide flexible, as-needed specialist support across classes for autistic and SEND learners. You’ll deliver engaging lessons, adapt activities for diverse needs, and create a safe, structured learning environment in collaboration with Teaching Assistants and therapists.

Qualifications

  • QTS and primary teaching experience essential.
  • Experience working with students aged 4-16 with SEN.
  • Strong knowledge of Primary curriculum and adapting it.
  • Creative and flexible teaching approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative and engaging lessons aligned to the curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching and learning activities to meet a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Build on students' individual strengths, interests and starting points to maximise engagement.
  • Support students' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and wider professionals.
  • Monitor student progress during your time in class and provide feedback where required.
  • Maintain high expectations while making learning accessible, practical and meaningful.
  • Encourage confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Celebrate achievements and help every student recognise their potential.
