Job summary

Riseley Green School is seeking a dedicated Bank SEN Teacher to join our specialist team on an as-needed basis. This flexible role is ideal for an experienced Primary Teacher who enjoys working across different classes and supporting students with a range of additional needs.

You'll collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals in a nurturing environment with small class sizes and personalised learning to help students engage, build confidence and achieve success.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
  • Experience in Primary education and/or EYFS is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of the Primary curriculum and adaptation for needs.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative and engaging lessons aligned to the Primary curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching for a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Create a safe, structured learning environment.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.

At Riseley Green School, we are looking for a dedicated and adaptable Bank SEN Teacher to join our specialist team on an as-needed basis. Working alongside Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals, you'll help students engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve success.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver creative and engaging lessons aligned to the curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching and learning activities to meet a range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Build on students' individual strengths, interests and starting points to maximise engagement.
  • Support students' academic, social and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and wider professionals.
  • Monitor student progress during your time in class and provide feedback where required.
  • Maintain high expectations while making learning accessible, practical and meaningful.
  • Encourage confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Celebrate achievements and help every student recognise their potential.

For this role, experience teaching Primary aged students and a strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum are essential.

Riseley Green School is an independent specialist school near Reading, Berkshire, for autistic young people aged 4-16, with a capacity of 60 students.
