Job summary

Pembrokeshire Direct Payments is seeking a compassionate personal assistant to care for a young lady with Rett’s Syndrome in Pembrokeshire. Training will be provided; Rett’s knowledge is advantageous but not required.

This role is funded through the Direct Payments scheme to empower the client to manage their support. You will be friendly, supportive and flexible to meet daily care needs, including personal care, safeguarding, and coordinating with healthcare professionals as required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Rett’s Syndrome is advantageous, but training will be provided.
• This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme to enable independent care.
• Role requires friendly, supportive attitude and flexible working to meet care needs.

Responsibilities

• Support with showering and changing.
• Support with personal care tasks.
• Ensure the employer’s safety during working hours.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks requested by the employer.
• Be mindful of safeguarding and report concerns to the relevant authority.
• Contact GP, Social Worker or Local Authority for medical assistance when needed.
