Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking a knowledgeable Pensions Advisor to support FPS and LGPS pension delivery. You will interpret complex pension legislation, provide expert guidance to managers, staff, pensioners and pension scheme members, and ensure compliance within a regulated environment.

Working closely with the Payroll and Pensions Manager, you will act as the service's pension subject matter expert, handle confidential information, and contribute to governance arrangements

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a pension-related role with FPS/LGPS.
• Ability to interpret complex pension and tax legislation.
• Experience advising a wide range of stakeholders on pension matters.
• Strong data handling and MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsabilités

• Be the first point of contact for the pension administration provider and monitor service delivery.
• Provide professional pension guidance to managers, employees, pensioners and scheme members.
• Liaise with external organisations (LGA, SAB, pension admins, auditors, regulators) and represent the organisation.
• Coordinate the transfer of pension-related data between stakeholders.
• Manage ill-health retirements and FPS/LGPS appeals.
• Oversee the Internal Dispute Resolution Procedure (IDRP).
• Monitor legislative changes and assist with pension scheme changes and compliance.
