Job summary

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Acute) to join the Acute SLT Team at Salford Royal Hospital. The role offers flexible, part‑time patterns to balance work and home commitments and provides access to specialist clinical knowledge.

You will manage clinical caseloads for dysphagia and communication impairments across acute wards, work closely with MDT colleagues, and gain FEES and Video fluoroscopy training.

Qualifications

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy required.
• HCPC registration mandatory.
• Experience with dysphagia and communication impairments in acute settings beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical caseload management for dysphagia and communication impairments in acute wards.
• Conduct assessments and provide rehabilitation plans.
• Collaborate with MDT across acute Medical and Surgical wards.
• Access training in FEES and Video fluoroscopy.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement projects.
• Support weekend rota for stroke wards.
