Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust in Salford is seeking a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Acute), Band 6, to work part time (22.5 hours per week) at Salford Royal Hospital. You will manage dysphagia and communication impairments on acute wards and participate in MDT meetings with senior SLTs.

The post offers CPD time, coaching and supervision, with access to FEES and videofluoroscopy training, plus flexible working patterns to balance home and work.

Formación

• Minimum 2 years post qualification experience of working with adults with acquired neurological conditions and their families/ support network
• Post qualification experience of working with a Neuro caseload
• Experience of assessing and managing complex communication disorders, including AAC.
• Experience of assessing and managing complex swallowing disorders
• Evidence based practitioner
• Experience working in the NHS
• Participation in research and audit
• Membership of relevant CENs/RCSLT hubs

Responsabilidades

• Provide clinical caseload management and provision of assessment and rehabilitation for patients with dysphagia and/or communication impairments across the acute medical and surgical wards.
• There is an emphasis on collaborative MDT working.
• The role will include access to, and training in FEES and Video fluoroscopy.
• There will be opportunities to be involved in service development and quality improvement projects.
• You should have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and be registered with the HCPC.
• You will be required to contribute to the weekend rota delivering supporting the acute stroke wards.

Educación

Degree in Speech & Language Therapy

Post-basic qualification/ specialist competencies in dysphagia (RCSLT Level C/Proficient)

Evidence of successful completion of relevant short courses

Clinical Educator training

Training / Experience of videofluoroscopy

Training / Experience of FEES
