Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join our stroke and community teams in Salford. You will work on hyperacute and rehabilitation wards with a specialist SLT service focusing on communication and dysphagia, supporting patients along their journey from hospital to home.

You will assess and treat adults with post-stroke communication and swallowing difficulties, develop patient-centred plans, collaborate with the MDT, and contribute to quality

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Experience with adults with post-stroke communication and swallowing disorders.
• Ability to work in a MDT and contribute to QI projects.

Responsibilities

• Attend MDT meetings.
• Access to swallow assessments and participate FEES and videofluoroscopy clinics.
• Contribute to research and quality improvement projects.
• CPD including leadership development.
• Manage patients who have had a stroke; training can be given.
