Job summary

The City of Liverpool College seeks a Bank Maths Lecturer to deliver engaging mathematics teaching to 16–18-year-olds and adult learners in Liverpool. This temporary post involves up to 24 contact hours per week, monitoring learner progress, and providing constructive feedback to support academic and personal development.

Applicants should hold a Mathematics degree and have teaching experience, with strong IT skills and a commitment to inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Educated to Level 4, i.e. degree or equivalent in Mathematics or related subject.
• Successful recent teaching experience.
• Excellent computer literacy and ability to use college IT systems.
• Curriculum planning, development and delivery in maths.
• Knowledge of GCSE maths and reform of functional skills.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.
• Level 2 literacy and numeracy or willingness to complete.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to motivate learners and maintain high standards.
• Accountability for progress and assessment of learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons to 16–18-year-olds and adult learners.
• Monitor learner progress and provide timely feedback.
• Create stimulating, inclusive learning experiences.
• Record and assess learner work in line with policies.
• Collaborate with Head of School on programme design and teaching approaches.
• Support additional English and Maths development within the subject area.
