Job summary

St Helens College invites applications for a permanent Lecturers in Maths to join our FE team. You will deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across HE/FE/work-based courses and support student progression.

The role requires a relevant degree with teaching qualification, GCSE Maths and English, and strong organisation and communication skills. 36 hours per week, with a generous holiday entitlement and a contributory pension.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience teaching FE students.
  • GCSE Maths and English (A*-C) required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver teaching/ training/ assessment on the courses you teach.
  • Be accountable to HOS & DHOS for standards, performance and outcomes of courses.

LECTURER IN MATHS

PERMANENT FULL TIME: 36 Hours

SALARY: QUALIFIED LECTURING SCALE: £28,839 to £38,697 per annum

At St Helens College and Knowsley Community College, the role of a Lecturer includes providing high quality education, training and skills to college students and clients in order to meet the Colleges mission, aims and objectives.

As a lecturer, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of teaching / training / assessment on the courses that you teach and accountable to the HOS & DHOS for the academic and professional standards, performance and outcomes of the HE/FE/Work-based courses on which you teach.

The successful candidate must:
  • Have experience of teaching and motivating FE students.
  • Hold a relevant degree; a higher degree is desirable.
  • Have a relevant teaching qualification or equivalent teaching qualification, or be willing to achieve this qualification within a set period upon appointment
  • Have GCSE Maths and English (A*-C)
  • Be well organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
