Job summary

Knowsleycollege in the St Helens area is recruiting a Lecturer in Maths on a permanent full-time basis. The role involves delivering high-quality maths teaching, coordinating courses and assessing learners to help them achieve qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering FE/ HE courses and motivating students.
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C are required.
  • Be well organized with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a relevant degree; higher degree is desirable and a teaching qualification is expected or pursued.

Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and deliver teaching, training and assessment on the courses you teach.
  • Be accountable to the HOS & DHOS for standards, performance and outcomes of HE/FE/work-based courses.
  • Provide high-quality education and support to students to achieve qualifications.

LECTURER IN MATHS

PERMANENT FULLTIME: 36 Hours

SALARY: QUALIFIED LECTURING SCALE: £28,839 to £38,697 per annum

At St Helens College and Knowsley Community College, the role of a Lecturer includes providing high quality education, training and skills to college students and clients in order to meet the Colleges mission, aims and objectives.

As a lecturer, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of teaching / training / assessment on the courses that you teach and accountable to the HOS & DHOS for the academic and professional standards, performance and outcomes of the HE/FE/Work-based courses on which you teach.

The successful candidate must:
  • Have experience of teaching and motivating FE students.
  • Hold a relevant degree; a higher degree is desirable.
  • Have a relevant teaching qualification or equivalent teaching qualification, or be willing to achieve this qualification within a set period upon appointment
  • Have GCSE Maths and English (A*-C)
  • Be well organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
