Job summary

Henley Day Nursery in Henley-on-Thames is seeking a caring Early Years Assistant to support lunchtime sessions and create a safe, calm environment for children aged 0-5. You will work with the team to implement activities and uphold nursery ethos.

The role requires EYFS knowledge, a Level 2+ Early Years qualification (preferred but not essential), and strong communication with children and parents. This is a casual, fixed-term position with hours 7:30am–6pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing EYFS curriculum.
• Completed Early Years Level qualification (Level 2+) preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication with children and parents.
• Ability to plan age-appropriate lunchtime activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate lunchtime activities.
• Maintain a safe, calm lunch environment.
• Work with nursery team to uphold ethos.
• Update child development records where applicable.
• Support room leader and follow safeguarding policies.
• Assist with toileting needs if required.
