Job summary

GI Group Main Account is seeking Meter Readers to collect data from gas, electricity and water meters at commercial and residential sites. No experience required; you will be trained and supported as you manage reads using a handheld device.

You will work with flexible hours (Mon–Fri 8am–8pm, possible Saturdays), earning £13.23–£13.97 per hour with weekly pay. Expect progression, company car, pension, uniform and PPE, and up to 28 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Manual UK Driving Licence - 1 year minimum, 6 points max, no DR offences.
• Physically fit and able to bend, lift, kneel, climb stairs and walk 4–5 miles daily.
• DBS check with no unspent convictions; credit report check.
• 5 years employment history; previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial, and industrial water/gas/electric meters; full training provided.
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment.
• Conduct Charge Point Surveys.
• Drive independently and stay motivated in field-based work.
• Present a friendly, professional image and adhere to Health & Safety guidelines.
