Job summary

Lansdowne Primary Academy is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work within the Gateway Learning Community on a permanent basis. The role focuses on small-group provision for pupils with SEND and supporting emotional as well as social development, with flexible working options including job share and part-time arrangements.

Support will be provided under the direction of class teachers and the SENCo, with observations recorded to inform pupils' needs and progress.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent required.
• Maths and English GCSE grades A to C or equivalent required.
• Experienced classroom practitioner preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small-group provision and interventions for SEND pupils.
• Adapt and plan classroom activities under the direction of class teachers and the SENCo.
• Identify pupils or groups who are falling behind in their learning.
• Carry out and write up observations to inform and evaluate pupils' needs.
• Support the emotional and social development of pupils.
• Provide classroom support in literacy, numeracy and behavioural needs.
