Job summary

Lansdowne Primary Academy, part of the Gateway Learning Community (GLC), is seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to support students, especially those with SEND. You will work with teachers and the SENCo to plan activities, run small-group interventions and support emotional and social development.

Applicants should have NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, Maths/English GCSEs, and a commitment to high achievement. Flexible working and a pro-active classroom role are encouraged.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent is essential.
• Maths and English GCSE grades A–C, or equivalent.
• Can provide excellent classroom support in literacy, numeracy and behavioural needs.
• Good organisation and inter-personal skills.
• Good knowledge of ICT; committed to high achievement.

Responsibilities

• Support small group provision and intervention for SEND pupils.
• Take direction from class teachers and SENCo and adapt activities to take learning forward.
• Carry out observations and write up findings to inform and evaluate the child’s needs.
