Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society in England invites applications for a Kitchen Assistant/Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe and homely environment for residents in our 40-bed care setting. The role uses a two-week rota with part-time hours, promoting hygiene and supportive care alongside colleagues.

We offer training, DBS checks, pension, flexible hours, team events and ongoing management support to help you grow in your role.

Qualifications

• Enjoy working with older people and showing empathy.
• Able to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Able to work as part of a team to provide excellent service to residents.
• Well-organised, practical and adaptable person.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and serving meals and refreshments.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Clean client rooms and common areas.
• Help to keep the home hygienic, fresh and tidy.
• Liaise with the Manager on cleaning schedules and material stock control.
• Fold items correctly, distribute residents' clothing and store linen safely.
• Maintain Laundry and linen stores in a safe, clean condition.
• Maintain the general cleanliness of the kitchen and catering equipment.
• Ensure water and spillages are cleaned up immediately.
• Attend meetings and training including fire and evacuation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
