Job summary

Pilgrims’ Friend Society is seeking a part-time housekeeping role at Villa Adastra, Keymer, Hassocks. You will assist with meals, maintain high hygiene standards, and clean client rooms and shared areas to support our residents. The role suits someone with empathy for older people and the ability to work in a team with an organised, practical approach.

Hours: 15 hours per week over two shifts, including weekends. Induction and ongoing training are provided, plus staff perks through Perkbox.

Qualifications

• You need to be someone who enjoys working with older people and can have empathy with them.
• You need to be able to operate laundry equipment in a safe and reliable manner.
• You need to be able to work as part of a team in order to provide an excellent service to our residents; and
• You must be a well-organised, practical and adaptable person.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and serving meals and refreshments
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Clean client rooms and common areas
• Help to keep the home hygienic, fresh and tidy
• Liaise with the Manager on cleaning schedules and cleaning material stock control
• Fold items correctly, distribute residents’ clothing and store linen and household items safely
• Maintain the Laundry and linen stores in a safe, clean, tidy condition
• Maintain the general cleanliness of the kitchen and catering equipment
• Ensure all water and other spillages are cleaned up immediately after they occur
• Attend meetings and training activities including fire and evacuation procedures etc. as needed
• In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, you must perform other duties assigned by your manager from time to time that are within your capabilities.
