Job summary

Pilgrims' Friend Society's Furze Hill House Care Home is looking for a friendly Kitchen Assistant to join our Ancillary Team, supporting meal preparation and delivering meals in a 40-bed care home just outside North Walsham.

You will maintain high kitchen hygiene, operate laundry equipment, and work with the Catering Supervisor to ensure smooth operations, contributing to a warm, homely environment in line with our Christian ethos.

Qualifications

• Empathy with older people.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely.
• Ability to work as part of a team to deliver excellent service.
• Be well-organised, practical and adaptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and serving meals and refreshments.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Support safe food storage and temperature recording.
• Deliver meals to residents with a friendly, caring approach.
• Work with the Catering Supervisor to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Contribute to a positive, homely environment in line with our care values.
