Job summary

UKCIL Ltd. in Leeds is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to support Hercules, a six-year-old with Down’s syndrome, in accessing community activities and daily routines. The role covers personal care, mobility assistance, meals, and light housework to ensure safety and well-being.

The ideal candidate understands Makaton, can use visual supports, and holds a DBS; moving and handling and first aid experience are valued. Driving licence may be required long term.

Qualifications

• Makaton proficiency and ability to communicate using visual supports.
• First aid training and moving/handling experience preferred.
• Experience working with children with Down syndrome or learning disabilities may be advantageous.
• DBS check is required for the role.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation for the child.
• Personal care support (toileting, washing, dressing).
• Support with social and leisure activities and outings.
