Job summary

UKCIL Ltd. in Leeds is seeking a part-time Personal Assistant to support a 15-year-old boy in LS9 (Harehills). You will help him access social and leisure activities and develop independence, in a stable routine.

Responsibilities include enabling community participation, safeguarding, and assisting with learning needs. A full UK driving licence and access to a car are preferred; shifts: 6 hours term-time, 12 hours holidays, mainly weekday evenings and some weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with SEN is preferable.
• Safeguarding Adults/Children awareness is desired.
• A full UK driving licence is preferred for transportation.

Can you spare 6 hours on a weekday during term time, and 12 hours during the school holidays, to support a young boy (15) to access community activities and to develop his independence.A Personal Assistant (P.A.) is required in the Harehills area to support a young boy who has difficulties with learning in accessing local community activities.He is a happy verbal boy, with a pleasant disposition and likes swimming, going to the park, he likes to play football and likes the cinema and McDonald. He is a lovely boy who would benefit from learning some independent skills when out in the community.He requires a P.A. for a total of 6 hours a week during term time, and 12 hours during school holidays, worked flexibly on mostly weekday evenings, but can also be required to work at weekends. The working days can be flexible; however, he likes to have a routine, and therefore punctuality and stability are essential in this role.Experience of having worked with children as well as children; young people with Special Educational Needs (S.E.N.) is preferable.
