Hertfordshire County Council is seeking a Library Assistant to join our community-focused libraries across Hertfordshire. You will provide excellent customer service, promote library resources, and help run engaging activities for all ages.

The role offers varied hours, a permanent/ fixed term contract, and progression opportunities as you gain experience within our Libraries team in Resources directorate. Join us to help enrich lives every day.

Formación

• Experience in delivering a high standard of Customer Service to members of the public.
• Resilient – ability to support customers with a wide variety of needs in a busy environment.
• Evidence of working collaboratively with a team to achieve aims and objectives
• Strong communication skills
• Demonstrable time management skills in organising and prioritising.
• Competent ICT skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet and other computer-based resources.

Responsabilidades

• Promote and facilitate the use of library resources and help customers find information.
• Deliver a programme of library activities and events such as Baby Rhyme Time and support the Library Manager in day-to-day operations.
• In some libraries assist with CreatorSpace resources, including 3D printers and virtual reality devices.
• All Library Assistant roles contribute to making a positive difference to people’s lives.
