Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for flexible treatment room sessions across primary care services in Lifton, UK. You will support clinicians with routine observations, wound care, ECGs, and basic health checks within GP clinic environments, ensuring smooth patient flow.

This locum role is ideal for HCAs who are confident in clinical duties, with enhanced DBS and strong communication skills, and who can adapt quickly to varying clinic settings. Ad-hoc or regular sessions available.

Qualifications

• Previous HCA experience in primary care or NHS settings.
• Confident performing routine clinical observations (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Good communication and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different clinic environments.
• Phlebotomy experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine clinical observations including BP, pulse and temperature.
• Supporting treatment room procedures such as wound care and dressings.
• Performing ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assisting with phlebotomy if trained.
• Updating digital patient records in line with service protocols.
• Supporting clinicians with general duties where needed.
• Maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.
