Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide flexible treatment room support across primary care services in Honiton. You will work alongside nursing and clinical teams, assisting with routine clinical tasks in a GP clinic environment and helping to maintain smooth patient flow.

The role suits HCAs confident with clinical observations, wound care, ECGs and phlebotomy if trained. A DBS check is desirable and strong communication with patients is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as HCA in primary care or NHS settings.
• Confident performing routine clinical observations.
• Experience with phlebotomy is desirable.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different clinic environments.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine clinical observations (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Supporting treatment room procedures (wound care, dressings).
• Performing ECGs and basic health checks.
• Assisting with phlebotomy if trained.
• Updating digital patient records per service protocols.
• Supporting clinicians with general duties as needed.
• Maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment.
