Job summary

Bruntwood SciTech in Manchester is seeking a Flexible Grounds Maintenance/Facilities Team Member to oversee external grounds across our Manchester region and support caretaking duties.

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, with a base at Valo, Lumina Village, and a provided van; a valid UK driving license is required.

You will help maintain presentation, assist with safety checks and building support, and join a team committed to inclusive, thriving city spaces.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and flexible with a can-do attitude.
• Comfortable working in varied Manchester weather conditions.
• Able to work in a small team and independently.
• Maintenance experience is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of external grounds presentation (mowing, weeding, litter picking).
• Support PPM tasks such as fire testing, water temperature checks and emergency lighting, and compliance checks.
• Assist Bruntwood building team and develop positive relationships with staff and customers.
• Be flexible to support any reasonable task; open/lock-up buildings as required.
• Complete regular building standard checks and inspections.
• Align all activities with our Service Mission.
• Address health & safety concerns; training to be provided.
