Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a General Practice Nurse to support regional primary care services across GP clinics in the area. The role offers flexible sessional work, suitable for nurses experienced in routine treatment room activity and in supporting day-to-day clinical operations.

You will assist local primary care teams with nursing duties, clinical reviews and patient-facing procedures in structured, well-organised environments.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration and primary care experience.
• Competent in treatment room procedures and routines.
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine nursing support across GP clinics.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Administer routine immunisations and vaccinations if trained.
• Carry out smear tests if cytology-trained.
• Support chronic disease management and care plans.
• Undertake NHS Health Checks when required.
• Document clinical information accurately in digital systems.
