Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a General Practice Nurse to support regional primary care services across Leigh-on-Sea. Flexible sessional work in established GP clinics, ideal for nurses with routine treatment room delivery experience and everyday clinical operations support.

You will assist local primary care teams with general nursing duties, clinical reviews and patient-facing procedures in well-organised environments.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration and primary care experience.
• Proven competence in treatment room procedures and wound care.
• Strong communication and patient interaction abilities.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new GP environments and teams.
• Familiarity with common clinical IT systems is beneficial.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine nursing support across GP clinic settings.
• Perform wound care, dressings and treatment room duties.
• Administer routine immunisations and vaccinations (if trained).
• Carry out smear tests if cytology-trained.
• Support chronic disease management and care plan activity.
• Undertake NHS Health Checks where required.
• Accurately document clinical information in digital systems.
