Job summary

Viaduct Care in the UK is seeking a Nine-month fixed-term First Contact Physiotherapist to join our GP practice team. The role covers assessment, diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal patients in GP-based clinics, with injection therapy where appropriate.

Part-time with compressed hours, flexible within practice hours, alongside a specialist spinal service and a team of physiotherapists and advanced practitioners. HCPC registration is required and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration maintained throughout employment.
• Postgraduate musculoskeletal experience; senior grade or higher.
• Advanced postgraduate skills in assessing and treating musculoskeletal conditions.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage musculoskeletal patients in GP practice FCP clinics, seen without prior GP contact.
• Initiate physiotherapy treatment programmes, including injection therapy where appropriate.
• Provide frontline screening and management of patients signposted by GP reception and staff.
• Deliver clinic diagnosis, imaging and management of complex spinal conditions within the specialist spinal service.
• Make onward referrals into the wider musculoskeletal service and other specialities as required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and up-to-date statistics; provide reports to GP PCN Lead.
• Contribute to care pathways, clinical standards, guidelines and service policies.
• Provide expert advice to colleagues and train staff, including GPs and practice managers.
• Participate in clinical supervision, CPD, audit and research in musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
• Uphold governance, risk management, infection control, safeguarding and information governance.
• Deal with complaints with the GP PCN Lead and contribute to communications.
• Assist with recruitment and induction of new staff.
