Job summary

Locum Ready is seeking a GMC-registered General Practitioner to provide flexible, well-organised GP sessions in Penrith within a supportive primary care team.

You will manage a varied caseload, perform high-quality patient assessments, deliver telephone triage, and ensure continuity of care with robust clinical workflows. Ad-hoc or regular bookings offered, with potential for long-term arrangements.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered General Practitioner with current registration.
• Active inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
• Recent UK primary care experience.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Familiarity with GP clinical systems (EMIS, SystmOne or similar).
• Valid indemnity and Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics.
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases.
• Providing telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow.
• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries.
• Prescribing safely and appropriately.
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system.
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow-up tasks.
