Locum Ready is recruiting a Locum General Practitioner to work for a GP practice in Oldham. The role offers ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions with flexible, well‑organised days in a supportive primary care environment.

You will deliver high-quality patient assessments, manage a varied caseload, and ensure continuity when required, supported by strong administrative workflows and a team-focused approach. GMC registration, NHS Performers List, and recent UK primary care experience are essential;

Qualifications

• GMC-registered General Practitioner with current license to practice.
• Active inclusion on the NHS Performers List.
• Recent UK primary care experience.
• Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
• Familiarity with EMIS or SystmOne systems.

Responsibilities

• Running routine and urgent GP clinics
• Managing acute presentations and complex cases
• Providing telephone consultations and triage as part of daily workflow
• Reviewing investigations, results and medication queries
• Prescribing safely and appropriately
• Documenting consultations clearly using the clinical system
• Supporting the practice with clinical actions and follow‑up tasks
