Job summary

Milk Education are recruiting for reliable and adaptable Secondary Teachers to provide emergency day-to-day cover across secondary schools in South Tyneside. This is a fantastic opportunity for qualified teachers, ECTs or experienced education professionals looking for flexible work across local secondary schools.

You'll be supporting schools when they need additional teaching staff, often at short notice, ensuring pupils continue to receive high-quality learning and support throughout the

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable; ECTs and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience in secondary teaching or supporting pupils in a school setting.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills with an adaptable approach.
• Ability to follow pre-prepared lesson plans while engaging pupils.

Responsibilities

• Providing day-to-day emergency cover across secondary schools in South Tyneside.
• Delivering pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Maintaining a positive, well-managed classroom environment.
• Following lesson plans and school guidance to ensure continuity of learning.
• Supporting pupils to stay engaged and on task throughout lessons.
• Providing feedback to the relevant teacher after lessons.
• Promoting a calm, inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
