Job summary

Step Teachers is seeking an Early Years Practitioner for day-to-day supply across nursery and school settings in Bicester and nearby areas. You will support 0–5-year-olds, assist with EYFS activities, and help create a safe, caring learning space.

Ideal candidates hold Level 2/3 in Childcare or EY, have EYFS knowledge, strong communication skills, and DBS with Update Service (or willingness to obtain). Weekly PAYE payments and wellbeing benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Relevant Early Years qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Early Years Education)
• Experience working with children in nursery or early years settings
• A warm, caring, and patient approach to supporting young children
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A flexible and proactive attitude to working across different settings
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Responsibilities

• Support the learning and development of children aged 0–5
• Assist with planning and delivering engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment
• Observe and record children’s progress and contribute to learning journals
• Support children with personal care routines and hygiene
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support each child’s development
• Maintain a clean, organised, and inclusive learning space
