Job summary

Astro Education is recruiting experienced Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Manchester and surrounding areas. Roles available full-time and part-time with consistent work, offering flexible opportunities and competitive daily rates based on experience.

You will supervise classes, deliver pre-set work, and help maintain a positive, safe learning environment while following school policies and procedures. Start: immediately with ongoing opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experienced working within a secondary school environment.
• Confident managing classes of secondary-aged pupils.
• Able to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Delivering lessons using work and resources provided by the class teacher.
• Ensuring pupils remain engaged and focused on their learning.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Creating and maintaining a calm, positive and productive learning environment.
• Providing clear instructions and supporting pupils with their work.
• Answering questions and assisting pupils where appropriate.
• Ensuring all pupils complete the work set by the teacher.
• Monitoring pupil progress and engagement throughout lessons.
• Following school policies and procedures at all times.
