Job summary

Astro Education Ltd. is seeking experienced Cover Supervisors to join partner secondary schools across Manchester and the surrounding areas. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-set work and help maintain a respectful, focused learning environment during lessons.

Roles include full-time and part-time opportunities with flexible schedules and term-time hours (8:15am–3:30pm). We value reliability, adaptability and strong relationships with pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in a secondary school environment.
• Ability to manage classes of secondary-aged pupils.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.
• Commitment to pupil safety and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Delivering lessons using work and resources provided by the class teacher.
• Ensuring pupils remain engaged and focused on their learning.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Creating and maintaining a calm, positive and productive learning environment.
• Reporting any issues to appropriate staff.
