Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd. in Dawlish is seeking Cover Supervisors for flexible daily and short-term placements across local secondary schools. Roles are available immediately, with opportunities to match your schedule, whether you want full- or part-time work.

Ideal candidates will have experience with secondary students, strong behaviour management, and the ability to follow lesson plans while supporting learning. DBS checks or willingness to obtain one are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with secondary-aged students in an educational setting.
• Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different subjects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring a calm and productive learning environment.
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
• Support students with their learning and respond to questions where appropriate.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils during lessons.
