Job summary

TeacherActive in Retford is seeking confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across local secondary schools for the 2026/27 year and beyond. You will deliver pre-set work and help maintain a positive learning environment.

This flexible role offers daily pay (£95–£110) and the chance to gain experience in education, with support from a dedicated consultant and access to training. Ideal for graduates or teachers transitioning, with DBS update service available.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage groups of young people.
• Flexible and proactive approach to work.
• Previous experience with young people is desirable but not essential.
• A degree or relevant qualification preferred.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes during teacher absences.
• Delivering lesson materials and instructions provided by teaching staff.
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Supporting students to stay on task with their work.
• Reporting back to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and any issues.
