Job summary

Step Teachers is offering flexible short-term and long-term Cover Supervisor opportunities in Mildenhall and the surrounding areas. You will support pupils across different secondary school settings, delivering pre-prepared lessons and maintaining a positive classroom environment.

Ideal candidates will have experience with young people, strong communication and behaviour management skills, and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting.
• Confident in leading a classroom and delivering set work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Effective behaviour management abilities.
• Adaptable across different year groups and subjects.
• Professional, reliable, and proactive.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil welfare.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials to classes across a range of subjects.
• Maintain a purposeful and positive classroom environment.
• Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
• Support pupils in staying on task and engaging with learning.
• Supervise students during lessons, break times, or transitions when required.
• Report feedback on pupil progress or behaviour to teaching staff.
• Assist with general classroom support and cover duties across the school.
