Job summary

Academics is seeking reliable Cover Supervisors to work across Croydon and surrounding boroughs. You will supervise classes, deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, and help maintain a positive learning environment.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or anyone with experience working with young people who wants flexible, on-demand work in education.

Pay ranges between £170 and £200 per day, depending on experience, with opportunities to gain valuable classroom experience.

Qualifications

• Strong classroom management and communication are essential.
• Experience working with young people is desirable.
• Ability to respond to last-minute bookings with a proactive approach.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during short-term absences.
• Deliver pre-set lesson plans across subjects.
• Maintain a positive, calm, well-managed classroom environment.
• Manage student behaviour in line with school policies.
• Encourage student engagement and support learning where appropriate.
• Provide clear feedback to teaching staff at end of lesson or day.
