Job summary

Sunderland Greyhound Stadia, part of Arena Racing Company, is seeking a Casual Catering Assistant to join our on-site catering teams during race days and hospitality events. You will help prepare and serve food, uphold food safety standards, and deliver friendly customer service in a fast-paced venue.

This flexible, casual role offers varied shifts, opportunities for training across departments, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse customers.
• Experience with cash handling and POS systems.
• Basic food handling and preparation knowledge.
• Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Works well under pressure and maintains safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow Food Safety Management System and maintain high food safety standards.
• Build knowledge of menu items and promotions.
• Support stock management, deliveries, and reporting low stock.
• Prepare and serve food in line with procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain allergen awareness and follow safety requirements.
• Monitor temperatures, quality checks, and waste to reduce waste.
• Deliver friendly, professional customer service at all times.
• Assist with cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
