Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a relief catering assistant to join our school kitchen on a casual, zero-hours basis. You will be called upon to cover staff absences, holidays, and busy periods, with flexible shifts as needed.

You will help serve meals to pupils, assist with food preparation, and maintain high standards of hygiene and safety. No prior experience is required as full training is provided, and you will join a supportive team making a positive local impact.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Catering Lead in serving meals to pupils.
• Prepare, cook, and serve nutritious meals while accommodating dietary needs.
• Keep dining areas, kitchens and equipment clean and tidy.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and COSHH guidelines; training provided.
• Aid with stock control, menu support, and operate basic catering IT systems.
• Maintain high standards of safety and safeguarding to keep premises welcoming for pupils and staff.
• Be flexible for relief shift work and undertake relevant training as needed.
