Job summary

Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a reliable relief catering assistant to join our school kitchen team. You will help serve wholesome meals to pupils in a safe, welcoming environment.

No prior experience required as full training is provided. You’ll work on an as-and-when-needed basis, with flexibility to cover shifts, holidays, and busy periods.

We value teamwork, safety, and a positive attitude, and offer ongoing training and support within a friendly school community.

Qualifications

• Reliable, hardworking individual with pride in service.
• Comfortable in a busy kitchen environment.
• Willing to undertake Food Safety or First Aid training.
• Flexible hours and relief shift availability.

Responsibilities

• Serve wholesome meals to pupils in a friendly kitchen team.
• Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals while accommodating dietary needs.
• Keep dining areas, kitchens and equipment clean and tidy.
• Safely use catering equipment and follow food safety, hygiene and COSHH guidelines.
• Assist with stock control, menu support, and basic catering IT systems.
• Maintain high standards of safety and safeguarding within the school premises.
