Job summary

Maria Mallaband Care Group Ltd is seeking a Domestic Assistant to join the care team in a home environment in Sunderland. You will work with staff to maintain a clean, safe environment for service users and colleagues, following home policies and COSHH requirements.

Alongside daily cleaning duties, you will have opportunities for apprenticeship pathways and development. Benefits include health plans, pension, flexible working and staff support programs.

Qualifications

• Have an understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
• Able to demonstrate the ability to manage pressure, prioritise tasks and communicate effectively at all levels.
• Genuine interest in working in a social care environment.
• Demonstrate care and compassion.
• Team player.
• Willingness to work in a physically and mentally demanding environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the Company Mission Statement at all times.
• Ensure the Home’s furniture, furnishings and fittings are clean and in good condition.
• Clean all surfaces of floors, walls and ceilings to a high standard.
• Clean carpets and empty wastebaskets daily.
• Clean internal windows monthly and bedrooms weekly on a rota.
• Ensure sinks, en-suites, bathrooms and toilets are cleaned daily.
