Job summary

The Prince of Wales Hospice Retail Shops in Pontefract are seeking casual Retail Shop Assistants to join our bank of casual workers. You will help maximise shop income while delivering excellent customer service and supporting the local community.

Role involves operating the till, cash handling, merchandising, donations, and maintaining shop standards. You may work on shop floor or stock room at locations within the hospice's local network, with flexible hours to fit your availability.

Qualifications

• Retail experience and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to merchandise stock and handle donations.
• Friendly, flexible, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate the till and follow cash handling procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times.
• Promote Gift Aid and encourage donations.
• Sort and prepare donated goods for sale, including some heavy lifting.
• Ensure merchandise is attractively displayed to optimise sales.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and presentation.
• Adhere to safe working practices and Hospice policies.
