Job summary

PK Education are recruiting dependable and enthusiastic Premises Assistants to join our Facilities & Support Team in Sheffield. You will support schools to keep premises safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors on a flexible bank basis.

The role suits those with facilities, maintenance, caretaking or general site experience who enjoy practical work and value flexibility. Weekly pay and varied assignments across primary, secondary and specialist schools are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, premises or caretaking role.
• Ability to undertake basic repairs.
• Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, adaptable and professional approach.
• Enhanced DBS Update Service or willingness to obtain one through PK Education.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day operation of school premises
• Carrying out basic maintenance, repairs and general site duties
• Assisting with classroom, hall and meeting room set-ups
• Moving furniture, equipment and deliveries around the school site
• Completing routine site inspections to identify maintenance or safety issues
• Ensuring school buildings and grounds remain clean, safe and well-presented
• Reporting maintenance concerns and health and safety hazards to the appropriate staff
• Supporting school caretakers and site teams during busy periods
• Maintaining outdoor areas, entrances and pathways where required
• Assisting with opening and locking school buildings when necessary
